Hall of Fame Pt. Ravi Shankar Pt. Ravi Shankar, the world famous sitar maestro and his daughter Anoushka Shankar accepted our appeal and performed a fund raising concert at Kolkata on 21.12.2002. Raviji and his daughter Anoushka and Mrs Sukanya arrived Kolkata in the evening on 19.th Nov.2002. There was a press conference on 20th Nov.2002 arranged by us at the hotel Hyatt Regency Kolkata in their prestigious Ball Room. More than 150 media(paper and electronic), people belonging various parts of India and neighbouring countries participated. Raviji and his daughter Anoushka, Sri Shankar Lal Bhattacharjee,(As moderator) and Niranjan Biswas,Secretary of Arogya Sandhan addressed the press conference. Pt.Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka performed for the Arogya Sandhan’s Child and Mother Care Hospital at Nazrul Mancha on 21.2.2002,at Kolkata at 6.30 p.m. The Maestro was accompanied by the renowned percussionist Mr.Abhijit Bandopadhaya,Mr. Tonmoy Bose and Mr.Bikram Ghosh.

Baby Amrita's Annaprasan

BABY AMRITA - "Annaprasan" ceremony on Nov.8,2003 at California,USA
Dr Madan Gopal Mukhopadhaya, renowned Oncologist, Bakersfield, USA, celebrated his grand daughter, Amrita's "Rice taking (Annaprasanam)" ceremony in a traditional manner with an innovatively noble touch.. Dr.& Mrs Mukhopadhaya, their daughter Mrs Misti Shangani and son in law, Mr. Parthib requested the invitees for the above ceremony "In lieu of gifts please consider a donation to Arogya Sandhan's Child and mother care hospital at Kolkata "Their appeal for the explicit noble cause resulted in total collection of Donations amounting to Rs 75,000.This money is being utilized for procuring an ECG machine for the Pathological lab of the Child and Mother Care Hospital. All members of Arogya Sandhan express their heartfelt gratitude to all the invitees to the above ceremony and Dr.& Mrs Mukhopadhaya, Mrs Misti and Mr Parthiv and wish Amrita's healthy and prosperous long long life.

Benevolent Lady of 84

Smt Binapani Chatterjee, a benevolent lady of 84 years of age of 67 New Santoshpur Main Road, Kolkata-700075 has DONATED a space measuring 1600 sq. ft. at 67B New Santoshpur Main Road,Kolkata to Arogya Sandhan for opening the Out Patient Department and Pathological Laboratory.
She had been living in the Shavar Town of Dacca District in undivided Indian. Immediate after the partition of India and during the Communal Riot of 1950 she was forced to leave Bangladesh along with her husband Late Naresh Chandra Chatterjee and small children. They came to India almost empty handed and started small manufacturing unit. Mrs Chatterjee, supervised the work of the workers and at the same time looked after the study of their two daughters and four sons. Now all her children are well-established in the society. She established herself as successful mother as well as successful woman entrepreneur.
Since the beginning of her life Mrs. chatterjee has been engaged in philanthropic activities. During the festivals she uses to donate new clothes to the poor people and feed them in her own hand. Many poor students could complete their studies because of her continuous and all-out support.
While doing these, since her middle age, She nurtured a dream of establishing a center where free treatment could be given to ailing people of downtrodden section. With this object in mind she constructed an apartment of which she owned 1600 Sq.ft. at 67B, New Santoshpur Main Road, Kolkata-700075.
With this above intention She called Arogya Sandhan and donated the space for opening the first phase of the proposed CHILD & MOTHER CARE HOSPITAL.
All members of Arogya Sandhan are thankful to her and wish her happy & healthy life.
